2. Kinds of The Article- Definite Article ( Kata Sandang Tertentu )
The
first form of the article in English grammar is the definite article. Definite
“means” clear, obvious.” The definite article tells us that the noun is
specific. The speaker talks about a particular (or known) thing. The English
definite article is the. The definite article, "the," is used
to refer to specific things.
Example:'These are the Chairs' - Indefinite Articles ( Kata Sandang Tak Tentu )In-“means “not.” And “Definite” means “clear, obvious.” “Indefinite” means “not clear, not exact.” The indefinite article tell us that the noun is not specific. The indefinite articles in English are “A” and “An”. “A” and “An” have same meaning. We use “A” before consonant sound and we use “An” before a vowel sound. We use “A” and “An” only before a singular noun. Example : a. Use “a" : This is a car b. Use “an”: This is an onion |
